Biography

Lisa Skinner is an international four-time bestselling author and behavioral specialist with more than 30 years of experience in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. A Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Dementia Care Trainer through the Alzheimer’s Association, and Certified Dementia Care Program Director, she also holds a degree in Human Behavior. Her career has been dedicated to helping families and caregivers understand the complex behavioral changes associated with dementia and respond with greater confidence, compassion, and effectiveness.

Skinner’s work is also deeply personal. Having experienced eight members of her own family being diagnosed with dementia, she brings a unique combination of professional expertise and firsthand understanding to her teaching. This perspective has shaped her practical approach to dementia care, including counter-intuitive solutions and tools designed to help caregivers manage challenging symptoms while maintaining more meaningful relationships with their loved ones.
